This year, Bollywood’s horror genre is showing to be a goldmine, with many films making significant box office gains. The trend was started by Ajay Devgn with his successful song Shaitaan earlier this year. Munjya’s surprising success in June came next. Stree 2 is now breaking records and is almost to the ₹500 crore milestone, which would ensure the genre’s dominance in 2024.

Popular actress Rashmika Mandanna has now committed to her debut horror-com comedy in Hindi, Vampires of Vijayanagara, amid this flourishing terrain. Aditya Sarpotdar, the director of the unexpected blockbuster Munjya, will oversee the picture. Filming for the project is scheduled to start in October, and it has already created a lot of interest.

Ayushmann Khurrana plays the male protagonist in Vampires of Vijayanagara, a story that is set in two different timeframes and stars Rashmika. The movie promises a unique fusion of historical and contemporary horror themes as it travels across the splendor of the Vijayanagara Empire’s Hampi capital and a small town in North India. Given the grandiose scope of the tale, a hefty expenditure is anticipated for the project’s production.

According to reports, Rashmika has a multifaceted part in the movie that will provide her the opportunity to demonstrate a wide variety of acting abilities in what may be one of her most difficult roles to date.

Rashmika Mandanna is juggling a number of well-known projects right now. She is collaborating with Salman Khan on Sikandar, Vicky Kaushal and Allu Arjun on Pushpa 2, and Dhanush and Kubera on Chhaava. Her two female-focused movies, Rainbow and The Girlfriend, further highlight her range as an actor.

Fans and industry observers alike are excited about Rashmika’s debut into the horror genre, especially with Vampires of Vijayanagara expected to add to her already stellar slate.
