UPI users can withdraw money by following RBI guidelines if they send money by mistake. Let's look at this in detail now.
Online money transactions have become commonplace in India. Now that everything has gone digital, online money transactions are gaining popularity among the general public. After the development of Google Pay and Phone Pay, direct cash transactions have decreased drastically.
Google Pay and Phone Pay are two popular online money transfer apps in India. They hold an 85 per cent share of the overall UPI-based transactions. The growth of payment apps like Google Pay and Phone Pay has reduced direct payments and purchases
UPI Payment enables you to receive and send money instantly. UPI is beneficial to all parties, starting from the digital common man to merchants. People can implement it everywhere from city to village. The number of people making money transactions through UPI is increasing day by day.
Sometimes customers face some issues while making money transactions on UPI. Especially when they send money to someone else by mistake and don't know how to get it back. If you make a money transaction to an acquaintance in this type of situation, you can ask for it and receive it.
If you send money to a wrong UPI number without doing so, you can contact the recipient and seek help in getting the money back. Or you can contact the customer care number of the concerned UPI app and give the details of wrong payment. Users are required to submit relevant information to claim refund.
If the refund is not possible through this, the next step is to contact the National Payments Corporation of India. There you can file a complaint about wrongly sent money. Also, any wrong UPI transaction can be reported by contacting the toll-free number 1800-120-1740.
Also, regarding incorrect UPI transaction, the user can contact the bank with the relevant bank account and seek assistance. By following these steps, you can get your money back if you accidentally send money through UPI.
