This feature is called UPI Circle or UPI Circle-Delegate Payments. Only 5 members can be added to a UPI ID to make online payments.
If you do not keep cash in your pocket and feel comfortable making online payments everywhere, i.e. UPI payments, then there is good news for you. Now you can share a UPI account not only with your family but also with your family. At least 5 people will be able to make payments with a single UPI at the same time.
UPI Circle or UPI Circle-Delegate Payments is a new facility through which multiple family members can make online payments using a single UPI ID. This facility has been launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). This facility will make it easier for the elders of the house or the younger siblings of the family or even those who do not have a bank account to make digital payments .
What is UPI Circle?
UPI Circle is a new feature introduced on the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) platform. This feature is specially designed to make transactions easier and more organized among groups of friends and family. In UPI Circle, users can create a group or circle in which they can make payments or transact together.
Features and purpose of UPI Circle
1. When transacting in a group
Through UPI Circle, users can create a circle in which they can send or receive money on a regular basis. For example, splitting the cost of a regular dinner party among friends, sharing house rent, or making other regular payments.
2. Easy and fast service
This feature is great for people who make payments to the same group on a regular basis, as it eliminates the need to enter new payment details each time.
3. Tracking of payments
All transactions in the circle can be tracked, allowing all members to see who has paid how much and who owes what.
4. Plan your payments
Through UPI Circle, members can also make automatic payments at scheduled times, thereby avoiding any kind of default or delay.
How does UPI circle work?
- With just one UPI ID, any one member of the family can create his/her own UPI ID.
- You can add four other family members to this main UPI ID.
- All five members can make online payments using this one UPI ID. Although all members use the same UPI ID, they have separate wallets. That is, each member can keep his money separately.

- Find the UPI circle option in the app and activate it.
- To add your family members, you will have to provide their mobile numbers and other necessary information.
- Once you add your family members, they can all make payments using the same UPI ID.
