The government is also appealing to the Aadhar card users to update their old Aadhar card. If your Aadhar card is 10 years old, then definitely update it once.

If you update Aadhaar card online before 14 September 2024, then you will not have to pay any charge.

UIDAI has informed through a tweet from its official X handle that the date for free Aadhaar update has been extended to 14 September 2024, which was earlier 14 June 2024. However, this free Aadhaar service will be available on the My Aadhaar portal.

If you go to an Aadhaar centre and update your Aadhaar via offline mode, you will have to pay a service charge of Rs 50, which is currently free for the online mode.

Which documents will be required

For Aadhaar update, identity card and other address proof is required. Apart from this, PAN card can be given as identity proof and voter card for address.

Let us tell you that this is the third time when the date of Aadhaar card update has changed. In such a situation, you should get your Aadhaar updated as soon as possible.

How to update from home (Aadhaar Card Update Process)

You have to go to UIDAI's website myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/. Then you have to tap on the option of Update Aadhaar. After this, you have to login by entering Aadhaar number and OTP.

Then you have to verify by clicking on document update. Scans of identity card and address proof have to be uploaded in the drop down menu.

After this you have to click on the Submit button. A request number will be generated for you.
After this you will be able to check the status of Aadhaar update.
