Director Imtiaz Ali has recently made a revelation about his film 'Highway'. He said that Alia Bhatt was not his first choice for the role of Veera in this film.
However, the director never approached any other actress for the role. In an interview, Imtiaz had said that he wanted to cast a mature actress for the role and was considering Aishwarya Rai for this. However, he never approached Aishwarya for the role. Ali said, I want a girl above 30 years to play Veera. I wanted to cast an actress who has some life experience. But after meeting Alia, we were not looking for age but emotional depth and maturity and it can be found at any age. The film 'Highway' released in 2014 was the second film of Alia's career. For this she received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress Critic. On the work front, Imtiaz's last film is 'Amar Singh Chamkila' which was recently released on Netflix.
