These fake apps look like real UPI apps, and when the thugs use them, these apps show that the payment has been successful.

On platforms like Telegram, download links of these fake apps are being sold for just Rs 100, and some apps are also available on the Play Store. This is a big threat for small traders, as they depend on UPI for everyday transactions and are not able to check every payment in depth. Therefore, traders and people need to be vigilant. They should always check the credit in their UPI app, and not just rely on the screenshots and notifications shown by the customer.
