EPFO New Rules: The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made some changes in the rules for updating and correcting details for PF account holders. These new rules have been brought with the aim that any kind of mistake in the PF accounts of the account holders can be easily corrected and the account holders can update their details on time.

Let us tell you that now to make any correction in the name, date of birth or other information in the UAN profile, the account holder will have to submit documents for verification. These documents can be Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport etc. to verify the information.

Rules changed regarding PF account

EPFO has clearly stated in its new guidelines that PF account holders often face difficulties in correcting errors in their profiles. These problems mainly arise due to data not being updated or incorrect information being entered.

There will be changes in two categories

As per the new guidelines, EPFO has divided the changes made in the profile into two categories, major and minor. These issues arise mainly due to data not being updated or incorrect information being entered.

Minor changes:

To correct minor changes like minor mistakes in name or minor discrepancies in date of birth, account holders are required to submit at least two required documents along with the joint declaration request. These documents can be Aadhaar card, PAN card or other government documents, which are sufficient to confirm the correction.

Major improvements:

For major corrections like mistakes in date of birth, wrong naming or any other major mistake, the account holder will have to submit at least three required documents. In case of major corrections, the verification of documents will be done in a more stringent manner.
