UPI Tips- If you sent the wrong money to someone, then do this work immediately, the funds will be returned

In today's digital age, money transactions have also started happening online, especially with smartphones, today you can transfer money to anyone through UPI, but many troubles also come for you with these facilities, it is common to transfer money to the wrong person in a hurry, which is also a financial loss for you, but you do not worry, with a small task your lost money can be returned within 48 to 72 hours, let's know about it

1. File a complaint with your bank's customer service

As soon as you find out that the payment has been made to the wrong account, the first step is to contact your bank's customer service center. You can also contact your UPI service provider directly.

Call the toll-free number: Dial 1800-120-1740 and provide all relevant payment details. As per RBI rules,

UPI app customer support: Alternatively, you can contact customer support for GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or any other UPI app you used to make the payment.

2. File a complaint on NPCI portal

Visit NPCI website: Visit the official NPCI website and click on “Contact Us”.

Submit your details: Fill in your name, email ID, and other required information. Select “Dispute Redressal Mechanism”.

Enter transaction details: Provide UPI transaction ID, virtual payment address, transferred amount, transaction date, email ID, and mobile number.

Select the issue: When asked for the reason, select “Wrongly transferred to another account” and submit the form.

3. Contact the recipient or file a police complaint

If you have the contact details of the recipient or the bank where the money was mistakenly sent, you can try contacting them directly.

Direct contact: Explain the situation to the recipient or their bank and request a refund.

File a police complaint: If the amount transferred is large or if you cannot get the money back, you may need to file a police complaint.
