Here are the things you need to know about this insurance coverage:

Claim up to Rs 50 lakh in insurance.

LPG gas is highly flammable, and despite many precautions, accidents involving gas leaks or explosions keep happening. The insurance coverage provided by petroleum companies compensates the LPG connection holder and their family for any losses caused due to such accidents. This coverage includes financial assistance of up to Rs 50 lakh in case of gas leaks or explosions.

Insurance coverage details

The insurance covers the entire family, with Rs 10 lakh provided per member. The coverage includes compensation for property damage, medical treatment, and death. The maximum insurance cover for the entire family is Rs 50 lakh. A maximum of Rs 40 lakh can be compensated in case of an accident, while Rs 50 lakh is the maximum compensation in case of death due to a cylinder explosion. Conditions to claim insurance Certain conditions must be met to avail of this insurance.

First of all, the claim will be valid only if the cylinder, pipe, stove, and regulator have an ISI mark. Regular inspection of the cylinder and stove is also mandatory. In case of an accident, the customer must inform his distributor and the police station within 30 days. The documents required for the claim include a copy of the FIR, medical receipts, hospital bills, postmortem report, and death certificate.

Additional requirements It is important to note that nomination of beneficiaries is not allowed in this policy. Additionally, compensation is provided only if the accident occurs at the registered residence. If you meet all these conditions, you can claim insurance in case of an accident. The distributor will inform the oil company and the insurance company about the accident, after which the insurance amount will be disbursed to you. By understanding these details and fulfilling the necessary conditions, you can ensure financial security for your family in case of an LPG-related accident.
