Bhojpur: There is good news for the people of Bhojpur district. Now you do not need to buy expensive gas cylinders. The first cow dung gas plant has been built in the district under Bihar's first project community-run Gobar Gas Dhan Yojana. At present, gas is being provided to 8 houses in the village from this cow dung gas plant, the price of which is half that of an LPG cylinder. Here on the one hand the price of an LPG cylinder is more than 1200, while the price of cowdung gas available for a month is only between 500 to 600.

This cow dung gas plant has been started in Khutiari village of Sandesh block of the district. It took about one and a half years to start this project in Khutiari village. Rs 6.34 lakh has been spent on this. UNICEF has provided financial and technical support. 8 houses in the village are getting gas from the cow dung gas plant. Coordinator Surya Bind said that the cost of gas for one month is Rs 500 to 600.

Currently, 8 houses have been given connection from this cow dung gas plant. A team has been formed in Khutiari village to run the project. It includes President Ravi Kumar (land donor), Secretary Navlakh Yadav, Treasurer Sunil Yadav and others. The technical coordinator said that 350 kg of cow dung is needed daily to run the project. Which is provided by 8 people in the team.
Technical coordinator Surya Bind told Local 18 that this has been done as an experiment on the initiative of UNICEF. It has been completely successful. Now it will be started in other places. The gas is going to the houses from the cow dung gas plant. It has many benefits. The first benefit is that the use of cow dung will reduce dirt. Secondly, it is very economical and thirdly, there is very little chance of fire from this gas.
