The Employees’ Provident Fund has made several changes in the rules, giving a big relief to its members. In the most recent changes, EPFO has made online claim settlement simple and easy.
Relief in online claim settlement
Under the new rule change of EPFO, now there is no need to upload the photo of check leaf and bank passbook for online claim settlement. This will make the process easier for the members.
Old changes are also important
Earlier, changes were also made regarding the facility of auto settlement, multi-location claim settlement and faster payment of death claims.
New instructions of circular
In the circular issued on 8 May 2024, EPFO has emphasized on establishing coordination at the regional level. Now it will be the responsibility of RPFCAs to establish proper communication between DRO and CRO.
You will get money even without Aadhaar
Now, in case of death of any EPF account holder, even if his Aadhaar Card is not linked to the account, the money will be easily paid to the nominee. For this, the seal of the regional officer will be required.
New circular on auto settlement
On May 13, 2024, a new circular was issued by EPFO regarding the facility of auto settlement. In this, auto settlement has been announced under Rule 68B for house and Rule 68K for education and marriage.
Increase in amount for medical
On April 16, 2024, a circular was issued under Rule 68J with the aim of increasing the amount of money paid for medical treatment.
