Actor Janhvi Kapoor thinks that the pandemic has made people rethink their moviegoing habits. He feels that more people should support mid-range films, both as creators and as consumers. The 27-year-old actress, who will be seen in the next movie “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi,” expressed her desire to portray narratively-based roles.
We’ve had to somewhat adjust due to the change in how people watch movies after the epidemic. In an interview, Janhvi told PTI, “It’s a good time.”

The actor claims that, because not every picture has to be a tentpole, producers should encourage mid-range films to get the recognition they deserve.
She plays the part of Mahima, a doctor in the romantic sports drama “Mr & Mrs Mahi,” who takes up cricket when her husband Mahendra (Rajkummar Rao) recognizes her potential and convinces her to follow it by becoming her coach.
This project is being directed by Sharan Sharma, who previously worked with Janhvi on “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.” “I hope people love it and we get to make more films like ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mahi’ because, as actors, you itch and crave to do films or tell stories like that,” the actress remarked.
When asked whether she is concerned about her films’ box office results, Jahnvi said that all movies ultimately find their audience. “Films always have an inevitable outcome; it may not be what you anticipate, but it will be what the film deserves.” Every movie has an ending. Sometimes a movie doesn’t live up to your expectations. In several situations, I’ve thrown all my eggs into one basket and said to myself, “With this movie, everything will be set.” But sometimes, you fail to recognize what you need from it,” she said.
The actress, who is the daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and late star Sridevi, expressed her gratitude for the chance to work on successful projects in Hindi cinema, saying that her goal has always been to make quality films and challenge negative stereotypes about people from her background.
“Perceptions, preconceptions, and the baggage associated with someone who one believes comes from a position of privilege would be the main sources of resistance and barriers. Thus, I’m pushing them to shed the baggage and perspective they’ve been carrying around. I sometimes think that affects how people see my work,” she said.
The expense of an actor’s entourage and their compensation are hot topics in the business right now because of the consecutive failure of high-budget films. When asked about it, Janhvi said that talking to the talent may help control it. “Our top goal is to produce a high-caliber movie in the most efficient manner possible. If there are any obstacles in the way of the producer’s vision, we will certainly adjust,” she said.
While learning to play cricket for “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi,” the actress had many injuries, but she said it was all worthwhile in the end.
“It took longer since I had two injuries that prevented me from moving for three months. The whole procedure took two years. The actress acknowledged that it was difficult to pick up the subtleties of the game and that she had learned how to play the cover drive, which is regarded as one of the most elegant strokes in cricket. Although it took some time at first, I thought I was doing well and was hitting 500 balls every day,” the woman said.
Now showing in theaters is “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi,” a film produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios.
