The accident was so terrible that 16 lives were lost by being buried under a hoarding weighing 250 tonnes. A couple living in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh had died in this accident. The deceased couple Manoj Chansoria and Anita Chansoria were the maternal uncle and maternal uncle of Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan.
Actually, the maternal uncle and maternal uncle of Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan had gone to Mumbai to get the visa. The deceased couple had left for Jabalpur from Mumbai on May 13. On the way, they had stopped at a petrol pump to fill petrol, when a huge billboard fell on the pump and both of them died in the accident.
Manoj's son had called him after hearing the news of the accident, but no one received the call. After this he called his friend living in Mumbai. His friend lodged a missing report of Manoj and Anita. Police traced the location of Manoj's phone. The phone was traced near Ghatkopar petrol pump.
Police feared that Manoj and Anita could be in the debris. After this, the NDRF team had confirmed that two bodies were buried under the debris on Tuesday night, but they could not be identified. On Wednesday, when both the bodies were taken out by cutting iron, Manoj and Anita could be identified.
The couple's bodies were found under the debris three days after the accident. The bodies of both were cremated in Mumbai. The deceased was a resident of Civil Line, Jabalpur. Deceased Manoj Chansoria had retired from the post of Mumbai Air Traffic Controller on March 31.
