New Delhi, Raftaar. Be it metros or big or small cities, thousands of smartphones are lost or stolen every day. UPI payment apps - Google Pay, PhonePe Paytm, etc. are installed in these smartphones. If the phone goes into the wrong hands, there is a possibility of your bank account being robbed. We are telling you how you can block these UPI payments...
Firstly, turn off your SIM
After losing or stealing your smartphone, first of all, get your SIM blocked. All your OTPs come on this SIM…so try to get the SIM blocked immediately. For this, call the customer service executive from a friend's phone. Then ask them to block your SIM. The customer service executive will ask the reason for blocking the SIM. Tell him the reason and the requested details like your full name, billing address, details of the last recharge, and email ID. If your SIM is blocked on time, the UPI PIN on your mobile number will be rejected.

Solution for PayTM UPI users
If you are a Paytm UPI user, then you will have to call the Paytm Bank helpline number 0120-4456-456. Here you will hear the Lost Phone option on the IVR. After this, information about the mobile number linked to Paytm will be asked. Other documents like police reports will also be asked. After all this is verified, you will get the Logout from All Devices option. Not only this, you can go to the Paytm website and get help from the 24×7 helpline option. Your Paytm account will be temporarily closed.
For Google Pay
Google Pay customers can call 18004190157. Apart from this, Android users can also remotely delete data by going to Google Find My Phone option. iOS users can delete all data from Find My App and other Apple-authorized tools. For PhonePe UPI ID, you have to call 08068727374. After verification, your call will be connected to customer care. From there you can block the UPI ID by giving some information.
