UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is constantly asking people to update their Aadhaar. Proof of Identity (PoI) and address proof documents are required for Aadhaar update. Updating the Aadhaar card will help in preventing Aadhaar-related frauds and correct demographic information will also be updated.
Aadhaar Update Last Date
Let us tell you that the last date to update your Aadhaar for free on the MyAadhaar portal is June 14, 2024. After June 14, people will be able to update their identity and address proof only by paying fees. Let us tell you that earlier UIDAI had kept this facility free till 14 March 2024, but later extended the deadline to 14 June.
Fee for Aadhaar Card Update
Let us tell you that there is no fee for updating your Aadhaar card online till June 14. However, you will have to pay Rs 50 for updates by visiting the physical Aadhaar center.
After June 14, a fee of Rs 25 will be charged for updating Aadhaar card documents online on MyAadhaar portal.
How to update your Aadhaar card for free?
Step 1: First go to myAadhaar portal.
Step 2: After this click on the Login button and then enter your Aadhaar number, and captcha code, and click on the Send OTP button. After this enter OTP and then click on the Login button.
Step 3: Now click on the ‘Document Update’ button.
Step 4: After reading the guidelines, tap on the ‘Next’ button.
Step 5: Go to the ‘Verify Your Demographic Details’ page and tick the ‘I verify that the above details are correct’ box and then click on ‘Next’.
Step 6: Upload ‘Proof of Identity’ and ‘Proof of Address’ documents and then click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 7: Now you will get a ‘Service Request Number (SRN)’ number in the email. You can also track your document update status through SRN.
Please note that your Aadhar card details will be updated within 7 working days. If you have given all the documents correctly.
