Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) invests the money it earns by selling its policies in the stock market and earns manifold returns from it. LIC is one of the largest investors in the Indian equity markets. According to data from ACE Equity, LIC's portfolio consists of 250 stocks. Till April 29, 2024, LIC had an investment of about Rs 13 lakh crore in the stock market.

Although LIC has huge investments in many blue chip companies, but apart from this the company is also investing in some such companies which are not very popular but have given impressive returns to LIC. To put it clearly, these are the companies from where LIC is earning billions of rupees. Gokak Textiles- This share has given a return of 768% in the last one year. LIC has 4.54% shares in this company of Shapoorji Pallonji Group.

Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Housing & Urban Development Corporation)- This share has risen 366% in the last 12 months. LIC has 8.9% investment in this company.

Gujarat State Financial Corporation (Gujarat State Financial Corporation)- This share has given a return of 310% in a year. LIC has 0.11% share in this company.

IFCI: In the fourth quarter of FY 2024, LIC had 1.95% share in this company. In the last one year this company has given a return of 305%.

SJVN: The shares of this government-owned company are showing no sign of stopping. This stock has risen 286% in 12 months. LIC has 1.73% stake in this company
