If you also use Paytm UPI handle then this news is useful for you. Actually, after the ban on Paytm Bank, users may soon have to change their UPI handle. Paytm has now started the process of linking users' UPI ID with other banks. If you have not yet changed your UPI handle and you are facing difficulty in using UPI, then you should do this work soon. Migration of Paytm users will be done in State Bank of India (SBI), Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and Yes Bank. Let us tell you how you can change it.

Currently, the UPI ID of Paytm users is 987XXXXXXX@Paytm, but soon the company will provide the facility to migrate users to a new UPI ID, through which they can shift their UPI handle to another bank.

Pop-up will come from Paytm

These four banks will work as PSP for Paytm. The user will now be asked for consent to use Paytm with the new UPI ID with one of the UPI handles of the four banks.

Paytm may ask you to switch your '@paytm' handle to a new UPI handle (e.g. yourname@axis) associated with one of the banks mentioned above. You will be able to select the bank. This should not hamper your UPI payment. You will still be able to send and receive money using Paytm.
This change ensures that Paytm can continue to offer UPI services. You may soon see a prompt to update your UPI handle.

What's new for Paytm users?

To ensure seamless UPI payments for both users and merchants, Paytm will transfer users from its Paytm Payment Bank to accounts of Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI and Yes Bank. Users with @paytm handle will be the first to migrate.

This is how you can change UPI handle

Go to your Paytm app and go to the profile section. Here you will see UPI and payment setting option. Now click on it. Now the UPI handle list of 4 banks related to payment will appear in front of you. Here you can use the handle of any bank as per your convenience. After selecting the UPI handle, you can use the new handle to make payment.
