EPFO Rules: EPFO has more than 27 crore customers. Advance amount can be taken if funds are required for medical needs at any time. EPFO has now changed this rule. The new rules of EPFO have come into effect from April 16.
Changes were made in EPFO after getting approval from the Central Provident Fund Commissioner. There is a facility to withdraw money from PF account for the treatment of any serious illness or medical needs. Money can be withdrawn as an advance for the medical needs of yourself or your family members. According to 68J, the account holder can withdraw cash up to Rs 1 lakh from the PF account for medical purposes. 6 months minimum wage, DA or employee's share and interest whichever is lower can be applied. Advance amount can also be taken through Form 31. But for this a doctor's certificate will have to be submitted.
pf account First to withdraw money for treatment from EPFO's official website www.epfindia.gov.in Open. Then choose the option of online services and fill the respective claim form. Now enter the last 4 numbers of your PF account and verify. After this click on Proceed for Online Claim and fill Form 31. After this fill your account details and upload the soft copy of bank check or passbook. Aadhaar OTP must be verified.
