For a very long time, politics and the entertainment industry were considered to be two sides of the same coin.

The tactic of using well-known actors to draw large crowds to polls is also time-tested and tried; but, Bollywood’s attempts in the UP elections have not yet been seen in the first round of voting.
Film faces have not been as important to political parties as influential individuals have.
Experts in polling claim that the large turnout for the elections was a result of celebrities and well-known TV personalities running for office among young people.
Many candidates only succeed in winning because Bollywood celebrities are there.
However, this time, the only names that will be seen on the list of prominent party campaigners for the first round of the election are those of Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan, both of whom are connected to the film industry.
Due to their political involvement more than their beauty, the two of them have also become well-known activists. Both Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan joined politics more than 25 years ago.
While Jaya Bachchan is an SP member of the Rajya Sabha, Hema Malini is running on a BJP ticket from the Mathura seat, which will go to polls in the second phase.
Bhojpuri celebrities like Manoj Tiwari, Dinesh Yadav Nirahua, and Ravi Kishan were not used by the BJP to win over votes in the first round of voting. Bollywood’s “Ram,” Arun Govil, and actress Kangana Ranaut have been granted tickets by the BJP, although they are currently not included on the list of prominent campaigners.
Hema Malini was focusing only on her Mathura seat, despite being included in the BJP’s roster of celebrity campaigners. In a same vein, Jaya Bachchan is running for the Mainpuri seat against SP candidate Dimple Yadav.
There is a longstanding relationship between politics and movies. Amar Singh, the National General Secretary of the late SP, was a powerful figure in Bollywood’s backrooms. He made the UP MP, Jaya Prada. Next, he persuaded Sanjay Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan to endorse the SP.
In the 1980s, Raj Babbar won the Firozabad seat and Amitabh Bachchan also won elections from the Allahabad seat.
Star of Bhojpuri films Ravi Kishan is a Gorakhpur-born BJP MP. Jayaprada, who has often run for office from Rampur, is not present in this election.
Several celebrities who excelled in the UP election climate last time around, including Bollywood actress Nagma, Chunky Pandey, Govinda, Ameesha Patel, Shamita Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Shilpa Shetty, and Sonakshi Sinha, are not participating this time.
Numerous Bollywood celebrities ventured to Uttar Pradesh, especially the Lucknow region.
Among the candidates from Uttar Pradesh were Nafisa Ali, Poonam Sinha, Raj Babbar, and Javed Jaffri.
