TRIBUNMATARAMAN.COM – The predicted lineups for the Ghana vs Panama clash at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled for Thursday (June 18, 2026), will be broadcast live on TVRI.
The live streaming of the 2026 World Cup match between Ghana and Panama can also be accessed through FolaPlay and MAXStream online platforms, starting at 06:00 WIB.
The Group L opener between Ghana and Panama is expected to be a tightly contested battle. Taking place in Toronto, this match carries significant weight for both sides, as they share the group with European powerhouses England and Croatia.
Both Ghana and Panama understand that securing a win in their opening fixture could be crucial in determining their chances of progressing to the knockout stage. Three points are the main objective before facing tougher opponents in their next encounters.
Ghana enters the 2026 World Cup with high ambitions to replicate their best-ever performance, reaching the quarter-finals in South Africa 2010. Having failed to advance from the group stage in the last two editions, the Black Stars view this tournament as an opportunity to reassert their quality on the global stage.
Under the guidance of veteran coach Carlos Queiroz, Ghana performed impressively during the African qualifiers, registering five wins and one draw. Their main strength lies in their attacking unit, composed of several players active in top European leagues.
Key names such as Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and Jordan Ayew will spearhead their offensive efforts against Panama, while Thomas Partey is expected to dictate the tempo and maintain midfield balance.
However, Ghana still faces challenges following a string of underwhelming friendly results, including a heavy defeat to Austria. The team must tighten its defensive organization before the World Cup begins.
On the other hand, Panama returns to the World Cup stage after making their debut in 2018. Managed by Thomas Christiansen, the team arrives with no pressure and is determined to make history by securing their first-ever World Cup victory.
Panama is known for its collective style of play and disciplined defensive structure. Their unbeaten run of eight consecutive matches during the CONCACAF qualifiers highlights their consistency.
Coach Thomas Christiansen is likely to adopt a pragmatic 5-4-1 formation. Defender Michael Amir Murillo will marshal the backline, while creative duties will fall to playmaker Adalberto Carrasquilla, with Jose Fajardo leading the attack.
Nevertheless, Panama’s defense remains an area of concern. Their 2-6 defeat to Brazil in a recent friendly exposed vulnerabilities when facing teams with superior individual talent.
In terms of player quality and international experience, Ghana holds a slight edge over Panama. However, Panama’s defensive discipline and counter-attacking efficiency could make this a closely fought contest right until the final whistle.
If Ghana can fully utilize their attacking creativity, they stand a strong chance of securing three vital points. Conversely, Panama will look to slow down the tempo and capitalize on any Ghanaian mistakes to gain a positive result.

World Cup 2026 Spirit Still Low in Malang Regency
The excitement for the 2026 World Cup, which began on June 11, 2026, has yet to be felt in Malang Regency. Public interest in purchasing World Cup-themed merchandise such as jerseys remains subdued.
At a custom jersey store in Kepanjen District, Malang Regency, demand remains low even ten days before the tournament. The store has not received any orders for World Cup-themed jerseys or accessories.
“As of today, no one has ordered World Cup-themed jerseys,” said Jamaludin, the admin of Kazoku Store, on Monday (June 1, 2026).
He explained that most orders currently come from customers preparing for local carnival events, which have become increasingly popular across the region.
According to Jamaludin, this trend is not new. In previous global football tournaments, the store — which has been operating since the early 2000s — also observed low enthusiasm among local residents for World Cup merchandise.
“People here are mostly from rural areas, so they’re more interested in carnival events, running events, or local football support items like Arema jerseys,” he added.
Kazoku Store offers customized printing for T-shirts, jerseys, polos, shirts, and jackets, all tailored to customer preferences, including design requests.
Prices start from IDR 55,000 per unit for combed T-shirts and IDR 65,000 per unit for jerseys. Purchases can be made in-store or online.
“Most of our orders are for T-shirts and jerseys, averaging around 100 units per day,” Jamaludin concluded.
