TRIBUNWOW.COM - BREAKING NEWS: The Belgium vs Egypt match ended with a 1-1 draw.

According to TribunWow.com, the Belgium vs Egypt clash marked the opening matchday of Group G in the 2026 World Cup.

The encounter took place at Seattle Stadium on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, early morning Western Indonesia Time.

Belgium managed to equalise 1-1 after trailing 0-1 in the first half.

In the 66th minute, Romelu Lukaku turned into the talisman for the Red Devils, the nickname of the Belgian national team.

Shortly after being substituted in the 66th minute, Romelu Lukaku helped break his team’s deadlock.

Lukaku’s movement forced Egyptian defender Mohamed Hany to score an own goal while trying to prevent him.

First Half

Belgium dominated the early minutes, continuously pressing Egypt’s defence.

Kevin De Bruyne unleashed a powerful shot from outside Egypt’s penalty box in the 7th minute, which narrowly missed the goal.

The Red Devils continued to attack until the 15th minute.

Meanwhile, Egypt looked for openings through counter-attacks.

However, both teams remained goalless at 0-0.

Surprisingly, Egypt took the lead in the 19th minute.

Emam Ashour found the back of Thibaut Courtois’s net with a long-range strike after receiving a pass from Mohamed Salah.

In the 31st minute, Youri Tielemans attempted a header toward Egypt’s goal but failed to convert.

Courtois made a brilliant save in the 33rd minute, tipping away a fierce shot from Mostafa Zico.

Leandro Trossard came close to equalising in the 39th minute but his shot inside the box was blocked.

Belgium kept attacking until first-half stoppage time.

However, no additional goals were scored, leaving Belgium trailing 0-1 at halftime.

Second Half

Egypt launched a series of attacks through Mostafa Zico and Omar Marmoush in the 48th minute.

The Belgian defence stood strong, blocking their efforts.

Kevin De Bruyne had a golden opportunity from a free kick in the 53rd minute, but the ball struck the crossbar and went out, resulting in a goal kick for Egypt.

Thibaut Courtois again showcased his class by saving a powerful header from Mohamed Salah in the 55th minute.

Marwan Attia fired a strong shot toward Belgium’s goal in the 57th minute, but it was blocked.

Omar Marmoush had a clear chance in the 60th minute after capitalising on a Belgian defensive mistake, running one-on-one toward Courtois, but his shot went wide under pressure.

Youri Tielemans and Kevin De Bruyne continued to attack in the 62nd minute, but their attempts were fruitless.

In the 65th minute, Omar Marmoush broke through Belgium’s defence after receiving a lofted pass from Salah, but his shot was blocked by a recovering defender.

Lukaku’s introduction in the 66th minute brought an immediate impact. His presence in the box led to Mohamed Hany’s own goal, levelling the score 1-1.

Boost for Local Jersey Businesses in Solo

One of the small business owners in Solo, Nofi Setiawan of NS Jersey, shared his predictions on the winner and runner-up of Group A.

Before giving his predictions, Nofi spoke about how he started his jersey business.

He began the venture while still in high school, motivated by his marketing studies.

“The background of this business is because I studied marketing in school. We had practical exams, so I decided to test this business. It started as a hobby, and after graduating from university, I continued selling gradually,” Nofi explained on Wednesday (10 June 2026).

“Alhamdulillah, the business has grown. I sell two adult jersey versions — standard (stadium) and player issue — as well as shorts and kids’ jerseys,” he added.

Nofi became more serious about the business after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Around 2020, it was just a hobby. But after the pandemic, I started taking it seriously and expanded,” he said.

Regarding the World Cup 2026 and jersey demand, Nofi noted that sales usually rise after the group stage.

“Usually, the demand increases after the group stage ends,” he said.

According to Nofi, the best-selling jerseys are from European teams, especially Germany and France, followed by Brazil and Argentina.

“The top sellers are Germany and France. Portugal is also popular because of Ronaldo. Argentina and Brazil are always in demand. England and the Netherlands are less hyped,” he explained.

Interestingly, Dutch jerseys are often shipped to Eastern Indonesia due to cultural ties with the Netherlands.

“Many customers from Eastern Indonesia order Dutch jerseys because of their Dutch heritage,” Nofi noted.

He added that customers usually buy jerseys based on three factors: design, favourite player, and budget.

“It’s mostly about the design, their favourite player — like Ronaldo, Mbappe, or Messi — and their budget,” he said.

Nofi shared that one of his most memorable experiences was when older jersey designs sold quickly as a team progressed deep into the tournament.

“It’s exciting when I still have stock of an older design and the team goes far, like Argentina in 2022. When they reached the semifinals, demand spiked, and prices went up,” he recalled.

He has shipped jerseys as far as Papua and Maluku, often in bulk to reduce shipping costs.

“I’ve delivered up to 12 pieces in one shipment to Papua or Maluku. Customers there usually group orders with friends to save on shipping,” Nofi said.
