TRIBUNKALTENG.COM – Don’t miss the live broadcast on TVRI or the online live streaming of the Brazil vs Morocco match taking place at MetLife Stadium at 05:00 WIB on Sunday (14 June 2026).
The Police Chief of East Kotawaringin (Kotim), AKBP Resky Maulana Zulkarnaen, has revealed his favourite team to support in this four-yearly football spectacle — the Brazil National Team.
The Samba Nation, known as one of the greatest powers in world football history, is widely believed to still have a strong chance of contending for the title.
“I continue to support Brazil. With the squad they currently have, I’m quite optimistic that Brazil will make a strong impact in the 2026 World Cup,” said AKBP Resky Maulana Zulkarnaen on Thursday (11 June 2026).
According to him, his optimism is well-founded. Brazil is currently bolstered by a number of star players who have been performing impressively for top European clubs.
Among the standout names are Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, and several other promising young talents who are expected to make a significant difference in crucial matches.
Resky believes that a combination of experienced players and young talents makes Brazil one of the strongest contenders in the race for the championship.
“Brazil has many quality players and stars playing at the highest level. I believe they can go far in the tournament,” he added.
Although the competition is expected to be intense, with several powerhouse teams from Europe and South America also in contention, Resky remains confident that Brazil will deliver their best performance.
He even predicts that the Selecao could at least reach the semi-finals in this edition of the World Cup.
“My prediction is that Brazil will at least reach the semi-finals. Hopefully, they can give their best and bring home another achievement in the World Cup,” he said.
The 2026 World Cup serves as a proving ground for Brazil’s national team, now managed by legendary coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Since his arrival, Ancelotti has brought new stability and composure to the Selecao dressing room after their struggles in the CONMEBOL qualifiers, where they finished fifth.
Brazil has fine-tuned their preparations with positive results in friendly matches, defeating Panama 6-2 and Egypt 2-1.
Despite being favourites with a star-studded squad full of European-based talents such as Vinicius Junior and Raphinha, Brazil must face the reality of competing without their all-time leading scorer, Neymar Jr, who remains sidelined due to an injury sustained in May.
In addition, full-back Wesley Franca has also been ruled out after suffering an injury in their final warm-up game.
Morocco arrives at this tournament with an impressive reputation, having reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
Under the guidance of coach Mohamed Ouahbi, Morocco cruised through the CAF Group E qualifiers with a perfect record.
Before travelling to the United States, the Atlas Lions showcased their excellent form by thrashing Burundi 5-0, Madagascar 4-0, and drawing 1-1 with Norway.
Their squad boasts world-class players including Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou, and Brahim Diaz.
However, Morocco faces some challenges as key players Nayef Aguerd and Abde Ezzalzouli have been forced to withdraw from the squad due to injuries.
Nevertheless, coach Ouahbi remains confident and determined to present a strong challenge against Ancelotti’s tactical setup.
In the history of modern football, the two nations have only faced each other three times. Brazil won the first two meetings in the 1990s, but Morocco claimed victory in their most recent encounter.
The 2-1 win for Morocco in Tangier in 2023 demonstrated that the balance of power in football is shifting and provided them with a crucial psychological boost, proving they can defeat the five-time world champions.
This match is expected to be tightly contested. Carlo Ancelotti himself acknowledged that Morocco is a well-organised team defensively and dangerous on the counterattack.
Brazil will likely control possession and rely on the creativity and pace of Vinicius Junior on the wings, while Morocco will aim to neutralise Brazil’s midfield anchored by Casemiro and exploit quick transitions through Achraf Hakimi.
