English winger Anthony Gordon revealed that he gained some valuable insights about Barcelona from his fellow countryman Marcus Rashford.

Barcelona made a surprising move ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window by spending a staggering 80 million euros to secure Gordon from Newcastle United.

The transfer was officially completed at the end of May 2026, with Gordon signing a long-term contract that will keep him at Camp Nou until June 2031.

“He told me how fantastic the players are there, the spirit within the team, which I had also heard from others at Barça before,” Gordon told TalkSPORT.

“So I really can’t wait to join them.”

“Rashford also talked about the city and the places to live.”

“He’s a good guy and very thoughtful.”

“He just gave me some useful information,” Gordon concluded.

Gordon’s deep admiration for Barcelona has been with him since the age of three. During his official unveiling as a Barcelona player, he impressed fans by speaking Spanish fluently in his first interview.

Armed with the insights from Rashford and thorough preparation, Gordon is now determined to justify his hefty transfer fee and help Barcelona reclaim their dominance in Europe.

Before joining the La Liga champions, the 25-year-old winger still has duties with the England national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
