Arsenal are ready to open their chequebook once again, with the Premier League champions targeting Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis in a £34.5 million move that will not interfere with their plans to sign Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers.
Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his title-winning side ahead of the new season, and the Greece international has emerged as a prime candidate. Reports suggest that Tzolis could be available for around £34.5 million, and Arsenal see him as a separate acquisition from their pursuit of Rogers as they seek to enhance their attacking depth.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal have stepped up their search for new attacking options following their Premier League success. The 24-year-old Tzolis, who represents Greece at the international level, is currently valued at approximately €40 million (£34.5m/$46.3m). The Gunners consider this potential signing independent of their ongoing interest in Villa’s Rogers or other offensive targets on their shortlist.
Tzolis has impressed the Arsenal scouting team with his prolific record. The winger has netted 43 goals over two seasons with Club Brugge, establishing himself among Belgium’s most productive attackers. Prior to his spell in Belgium, he enjoyed a sensational 2023–24 season at Fortuna Düsseldorf, scoring 22 goals in Germany’s second division.
Despite recently signing a contract extension with Club Brugge in 2025 that runs until 2029, Arsenal are exploring the possibility of luring him to north London this summer. Arteta remains determined to reinforce his attacking options after Arsenal’s Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The club’s recruitment department is focused on evolving the squad further, ensuring they maintain momentum rather than resting on their domestic achievements.
Tzolis is familiar with English football, having joined Norwich City in 2021 and making 14 Premier League appearances. Although he struggled to establish himself at Carrow Road, he revived his career through successful stints at FC Twente and Club Brugge, where he has rediscovered his scoring touch.
Arsenal’s renewed interest in the Greek forward follows their failed enquiry for Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz, with the Italian side unwilling to sanction a transfer for the Turkey international. As a result, Tzolis has emerged as a compelling alternative capable of delivering goals and assists from the left wing.
Last season, Tzolis recorded 17 goals and 23 assists in league play, showcasing his ability to operate across the front line. His versatility, efficiency, and UEFA Champions League experience make him an attractive proposition for the Gunners, who continue to seek ways to rejuvenate their attacking setup.
While Arsenal continue negotiations for Tzolis, they are also pursuing other offensive reinforcements, including Morgan Rogers. As the summer transfer window progresses, the north London club will look to add further competition and productivity in attack as they aim to defend their Premier League title.
