Rajasthan Government Scheme: Both the central and state governments are striving to make girls self-reliant and are launching various schemes to support them. One such initiative by the Rajasthan government covers the expenses related to a girl's education and marriage.
This initiative by the Rajasthan government is known as the "Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana." Its primary objective is to cover all expenses from a girl's birth through her education. The scheme aims to curb female foeticide in the state while also ensuring girls receive an education.
When was this scheme launched?
The Rajasthan government launched this scheme in 2016. It provides financial assistance of ₹50,000—transferred directly to the girl's account—covering the period from her birth until she passes Class 12. These funds are deposited into an account opened in the daughter's name.
When and how much money will be received?
If your daughter is eligible for this scheme, the money will be disbursed in installments:
An initial installment of ₹2,500 is given at the time of the girl's birth.
A second installment of ₹2,500 is provided when she turns one year old.
A third installment of ₹4,000 is given upon school admission.
A fourth installment of ₹5,000 is provided when she enters Class 6.
Subsequently, a fifth installment of ₹11,000 is given upon admission to Class 10.
The final installment of ₹25,000 is transferred directly to her account after she passes Class 12.
How to apply?
To apply for this scheme, documents such as the girl's birth certificate or Aadhaar card may be required. It is mandatory to have the health cards of the mother and child, as well as a school admission certificate. If you wish to apply, you can do so by visiting the online portal.
