Tezzbuzz Desk- If you are trying to lose weight and are bored of eating the same snacks every day, then black gram cutlets can be a great option for you. Black gram, rich in protein and fiber, helps in keeping the stomach full for a long time, thus preventing one from feeling hungry again and again. This is the reason why people who like fitness like to include it in their diet.
Apart from being delicious in taste, this cutlet is also very nutritious. You can also include it in morning breakfast, evening tea or children’s tiffin.
Ingredients for making black gram cutlets
- 1 cup boiled black gram
- 2 boiled potatoes
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 2 finely chopped green chillies
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
- salt as per taste
- 2 tbsp bread crumbs
- oil or ghee for baking
easy method to make
First of all, put boiled black gram in a big bowl and mash it well. If you wish, you can leave it a little coarse, which improves the texture of the cutlet.
Now add boiled potatoes, onion, green chilli, ginger paste, red chilli, garam masala, chaat masala, green coriander and salt and mix well.
If the mixture seems too soft then add bread crumbs to it. With this, cutlets will be made easily and will not break while baking.
Now take small portions from the mixture and prepare round or oval shaped cutlets.
Heat a non-stick pan and apply light oil or ghee. Cook the prepared cutlets on medium flame until they become golden and crisp on both sides.
Why is it healthy?
Black gram is considered a good source of protein, fiber, iron and many essential minerals. It helps in controlling weight, improving digestion and giving energy to the body.
Serving Tip
Serve hot black gram cutlets with green chutney, curd dip or tomato sauce. Your whole family will love this healthy snack.
