The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Afghanistan is to be played in Dharamshala today (June 13). The command of Team India is in the hands of Shubman Gill, while Afghanistan will be captained by Hashmatullah Shahidi. Eyes will be on Rohit Sharma in this match against Afghanistan. Rohit has been declared fit just before the ODI series. He was seen struggling with hamstring problem in IPL 2026. This series is important for them keeping in mind the 2027 ODI World Cup. Rohit will be in search of a big innings. Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya are out of this series due to injury. In such a situation, there will be additional responsibility on Rohit.
Prince or Gurnoor’s debut
Young fast bowler Prince Yadav, who came into limelight with his sharp bowling in IPL 2026, can be handed the ODI debut cap. Prince also performed brilliantly for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy last year. He is competing with Gurnoor Brar for the third fast bowler slot in the playing XI.
