AI data center will also be expanded in Jaipur: Ashwini Vaishnav Gujarati

Jaipur, 11 June 2026: Union Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting and Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnav, during her visit to Jaipur, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the Central Government has made unprecedented investment in railway development, better connectivity and strengthening of modern technological infrastructure in Rajasthan.

Before the year 2014, the annual railway budget for Rajasthan was estimated to be only Rs 600 crore. The current government has made a record-breaking increase in it and has allocated Rs 10,228 crore for railway development this year. The work of increasing platform height, building sheds and creating modern facilities at more than 200 stations out of approximately 450 stations in Rajasthan is going on at a fast pace. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 85 railway stations of the state are being made global class, in which Jaipur station is included. Work is also in progress.

Keeping in mind the demand of Jaipur MP, Darbhanga-Ajmer train, which currently runs on weekly basis (once in अथवादिया), will be converted into daily service in the next two months. Apart from this, new Amrit Bharat and Express trains have been started from Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. The Central Government is paying special attention to increasing railway connectivity in the strategically important border areas of Rajasthan.

Along with this, state-of-the-art laboratories (labs) to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Technology and Semiconductor will be developed at Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) located in Jaipur. AI Data Center will also be expanded in Jaipur, so that new employment opportunities can be created in the digital sector at the local level.
