The Three Lions are scheduled to face Costa Rica in Orlando, Florida, tomorrow in their final warm-up match before the World Cup kicks off.
England’s World Cup training camp experienced a 6.1 magnitude earthquake just days ahead of the tournament’s start.
The quake, which struck Orlando, reportedly led to temporary evacuations from several buildings in the area.
Local reports indicate there were no serious injuries or major structural damage, though many structures were noticeably shaken by the tremors.
The earthquake’s epicentre was located off the western coast of Cuba, and the shockwaves travelled across the Caribbean.
Holiday destinations such as Cancun and Tulum in Mexico, along with Disney World in Orlando, also reported feeling the tremors.
While there are currently no accounts of significant destruction, this is the most powerful quake to affect the region since 1880, when Cuba recorded a 6.0 magnitude earthquake.
Footage circulating online captured homes and buildings swaying as the tremor struck on Monday.
Firefighters in Florida reassured residents that there was no cause for concern, while the US National Tsunami Warning Centre confirmed there was no threat of a tsunami.
After their friendly against Costa Rica, the England squad will move to their main World Cup base located at the home of Sporting Kansas City in Missouri.
England have been training in Florida for the past week and recently secured a 1-0 victory over New Zealand in Tampa on Saturday, the first of their two warm-up fixtures before the tournament.
Harry Kane netted the only goal in what was considered an unconvincing performance, and head coach Thomas Tuchel later expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s “freestyle” style of play during the first half before they improved after the interval.
The team will begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 17, followed by matches against Ghana on June 23 and Panama on June 27 to conclude the group stage.
