AI is revolutionizing many industries around the world and its impact is now evident in the travel technology sector as well. It is against this backdrop that Cognizant, Travelport and Anthropic have announced a significant collaboration to build an AI-based smart travel ecosystem. The main objective of this partnership is to make travel booking, service management and delivery systems more modern, faster and intelligent.

BSNL introduced Hatke plan; 28 days validity and 2GB data per day for just Rs 51

Under this collaboration, Travelport will incorporate advanced AI capabilities into its platform using Anthropic’s Claude AI technology. This will enable airlines, hotels, travel agencies and online travel platforms to serve customers more accurately and quickly. Cognizant will be responsible for large-scale AI technology implementation and software modernization in the process.

While travelers are currently using AI tools to plan their journeys, traditional reservation systems cannot effectively interpret those demands. Therefore, the pressure on travel management companies is increasing. As a solution to this problem, this new AI system will handle bookings, rebookings, refunds and service management more easily through direct customer interaction.

New technologies will enable travel agents to find suitable options in less time, predict travel disruptions and automate rebooking. This can be a huge savings in both time and cost, especially for large travel management companies. According to the companies, even an hour saved per agent per day can translate into millions of dollars in productivity annually.

Ravi Kumar S, CEO, Cognizant, said the technology infrastructure in the travel industry is highly complex and companies that succeed in the future will make it smarter and more modern. Travelport CEO John Mangelaars explained that AI is not the technology of the future but the reality of the present. He also said that the partnership has given the travel sector an AI superpower.
