Bangladeshi infiltrators started returning from Bengal? Moved towards the border due to fear of holding center

Kolkata: For the last two days, unusual activity is being seen at the Hakimpur check post border located in Swaroopnagar in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Fear and restlessness are clearly visible on the faces of people moving towards the border. The small bags hastily tied in the hands of women and the feeling of uncertainty in the eyes of children are making this whole incident more serious.

It is being told that after discussions of possible strict action against infiltration and fake documents in the state, many Bangladeshi families have been forced to leave Bengal. Especially the news of setting up of holding centers has created an atmosphere of fear among the people living illegally.

Anxiety increased due to fear of holding center

According to sources, those who are being identified as illegal infiltrators are feared to be sent across the border. Due to this fear, many families are seen returning towards the border overnight.

Earlier, a similar situation had come to light during the action taken against infiltrators in SIR and other states of the country.

Many families were living in Bengal for years

The people returning towards the border also include families who were living in different areas of Bengal for the last several years.

In cities like Kolkata, Barasat, Dumdum and Howrah, many of these people were working as rickshaw pullers, construction workers, domestic helpers and in small factories. With time he had established his own little world in these cities.

According to the local people living in the border areas, people are reaching the border in small groups from late night till morning.

28 year old Naseem Mollah said, "Earlier it was thought that there would be only paper checks, but now the factory owner is also saying to disappear for a few days. We are poor people, do not want to go to jail."

According to Naseem, he used to work in a leather factory in Kolkata.

What did the local people say?

People living in the villages along the border say that this is the second time in the last one year when suddenly a large number of people are seen returning towards the border.

Abdul Karim, 42, said, "Came to work as a laborer ten years ago. Here Aadhaar, voter and even ration card were made, votes were also given, but now the atmosphere has changed."

An atmosphere of fear created by increasing discussions

After the formation of the BJP government in the state, discussions about proposed action against infiltration and fake documents have made the atmosphere more sensitive.

For this reason, the fear of arrest and being sent to jail seems to be continuously increasing among people living illegally.
