
Ahmedabad, 27 May. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) along with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) seized approximately 115 kg of cocaine during a joint intelligence-based anti-trafficking operation conducted off the Mundra coast of Gujarat on May 25-26, 2026. As per estimates received from public sources, the estimated international market value of the seized drugs is approximately Rs 1150 crore.
This was the 15th successful anti-narcotics operation jointly conducted by the Indian Coast Guard and ATS in the last five years, achieving a major success against drug smuggling through the sea route.
Based on specific and actionable intelligence shared by Gujarat ATS, ICG interceptor boats manned by ATS personnel conducted an extensive search operation in the Mundra anchorage area. During the operation, suspicious activity was observed on a container vessel. Demonstrating quick operational response and seamless inter-agency coordination, the team immediately reached the scene and successfully recovered five bags from the sea.
During investigation, packets of white powder like substance were found in the bags, which were confirmed to be cocaine. During this operation, a total of 115 packets weighing about one kilogram each were seized, whose total weight was about 115 kg. Was.
