Delhi SIR 2026: If you are a voter in Delhi, this news is of utmost importance to you. Under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR 2026) initiative, the voter list is being updated once again. The objective of this Election Commission campaign is to ensure that the name of every genuine voter in Delhi appears in the voter list, while preventing the inclusion of any fraudulent individuals. To fill out the form for this process, you will need details from the previous SIR, as these details are used to retrieve your existing voter entry, which is essential during the form-filling process. Even if you have migrated from another state, your records can still be retrieved. If you do not possess this information, you may encounter difficulties. In such a scenario, there is no need for you to visit any office or go through any hassle to locate your name in the old voter list. You can accomplish this task from the comfort of your home using the ECINET app or the Voter Portal. Here is how.
**What is SIR, and when does it begin in Delhi?**
This initiative is a campaign aimed at ensuring the voter list is accurate, clean, and up-to-date. In Delhi, the door-to-door verification drive will commence on June 30 and continue until July 29. During this period, Election Commission officials—specifically Booth Level Officers (BLOs)—will visit your home. They will provide you with an Enumeration Form (or census form). You are required to fill out this form and return it to them. Alternatively, you have the option to fill out this form online.
**Important Dates for Delhi SIR 2026**
Door-to-door visits by BLOs and form submission: June 30 to July 29
Publication of the Draft Voter List: August 5
Release of the Final Voter List: October 7
**Who is being included in Delhi SIR 2026, and what are the benefits?**
The name of every citizen who turns 18 years of age or older by October 1 will be added to this list. The key benefit of this initiative is that, previously, polling booths typically accommodated 1,500 voters, which often led to overcrowding. The Election Commission has now reduced this limit to 1,200 voters per booth to ensure a smoother and more convenient voting experience for you.
**3 Things You Need to Note Down**
When a BLO (Booth Level Officer) visits your home, or when you fill out an online form, you should have certain essential details from the previous voter list (referred to as the 'Last SIR') at hand. You need to locate and note down three specific details from your or your family's old records: the Assembly Constituency Number, the Polling Station Number (or Part Number), and the Serial Number. Apart from these details, you do not need to attach any other documents to submit this form. If you wish to verify whether your name—or that of your family members—appears in the old records (the 'Last SIR'), there is no need to make repeated trips to government offices. You can check this directly from your phone in just a few minutes.
**How to Check Your Name in the 'Last SIR' Using the ECINET App**
1. First, go to the Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for iOS) on your mobile phone and download the Election Commission's official ECINET app.
2. Alternatively, you may visit the official website: www.voters.eci.gov.in.
3. Once you open the app or website, you will see an option labeled 'Search Your Name in Last SIR'; click on it.
4. Now, select the name of the state where you—or your parents or grandparents—were previously registered as voters. Following this, select your district and Assembly area.
5. Enter whatever information you have available—such as the voter's full name, Part Number, and Serial Number—into the designated fields.
6. Now, click on the 'Search' button.
7. As soon as the name and other details appear on your screen, make sure to note down the Constituency Number, Part Number, and Serial Number.
