Prince Abdul Mateen, 34, is the 10th child of Brunei’s ruler, Hassanal Bolkiah. He is among the most well-known members of the Brunei royal family and frequently represents the monarchy at international events.
He married Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah in Jan. 2024 in a multi-day royal wedding held that drew widespread international media coverage. In February this year, the couple announced the birth of their first child, Princess Zahra Mariam Bolkiah.
Since welcoming their daughter, Mateen and Anisha have shared their family moments on social media. In April, they posted photos from a holiday abroad with Zahra. Mateen has also shared images of himself caring for his daughter at home.
In 2016, Tatler magazine named Mateen one of Asia’s most eligible bachelors. The prince is also known for his interest in polo and represented Brunei at the 2017 and 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Anisha is an entrepreneur in the cultural tourism industry and holds a degree from the University of Bath in the U.K.
