The politics of Karnataka is completely heated at this time. The ongoing tussle within the Congress government now seems to be coming out into the open. According to reports, the party high command has indicated to give bigger responsibility to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Delhi politics. Along with this, discussions about his resignation have also intensified. The round of meetings is going on continuously from Delhi to Bengaluru and everyone’s eyes are now fixed on the next step of Congress.
DK Shivkumar became the biggest contender
Since Congress’s 2023 assembly victory, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar’s supporters have been talking about the “two and a half years” formula. Now that the government is approaching half of its tenure, the Shiv Kumar camp has increased the pressure. There is a strong discussion within the party that if Siddaramaiah leaves the chair, then the next Chief Minister will be D.K. Must be Shivkumar. His supporters have also openly entered the field and the atmosphere has become completely political.
Delhi’s breakfast meeting increased the stir
In Delhi, Siddaramaiah held a special breakfast meeting with his close ministers and leaders. After this meeting the discussions in the political circles became more intense. It is being told that Siddaramaiah may soon call a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party i.e. CLP and take a major decision. Although it is being officially said by the party that the purpose of the meetings held in Delhi was only to discuss the Rajya Sabha elections, but internally a different story is being told.
Congress high command’s big plan
According to sources, the Congress leadership wants Siddaramaiah to be included in national politics. The party wants to project him as an OBC face across the country so that the backward classes can be targeted in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This is the reason why discussions are going on to call him to Delhi and send him to Rajya Sabha. But it is being said that Siddaramaiah is not completely happy with this decision and has asked for some time to think.
Now everyone’s eyes are on Thursday’s decision
This internal fight going on in Karnataka Congress has now reached a decisive turn. The entire state’s eyes are on the meetings and press conferences to be held on Thursday. If Siddaramaiah resigns, a major change of power may be seen in Karnataka. At the same time, if he continues in the chair, then the tussle within the Congress may increase further. At present the public is asking – “Is Karnataka really going to get a new Chief Minister?”
