Once again a major turning point has come in the RG Kar Medical College case which shook the politics of West Bengal and the country. Ratna Debnath, mother of the trainee doctor who was the victim of RG Kar rape-murder and now BJP MLA from Panihati, met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at the state secretariat on Monday (May 25). After this very important meeting, he has made a direct and sharp attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and former Chief Minister of the state Mamata Banerjee over her crushing defeat in the assembly elections.
In an emotional and aggressive post shared on social media, Panihati MLA Ratna Debnath said that she met Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on the 14th floor of the state’s Chief Secretariat ‘Nabanna’. During this, he compared the biggest personal loss of his life with the crushing political defeat of Mamata Banerjee.
Mamata government accused of suppressing RG tax issue
It is noteworthy that on the intervening night of 8th and 9th August in the year 2024, Ratna Debnath’s 31-year-old daughter, who was a promising trainee doctor, was brutally raped and murdered in the seminar room of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Immediately after this horrific incident, the then Mamata government was accused of destroying evidence to hush up the case and trying to suppress the entire incident. However, after the crushing defeat of Trinamool Congress in the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly elections and the coming of the BJP government in the state, the new government has clearly announced that the hearing of this sensitive case will be expedited and justice will be provided to the victim at any cost.
What did the victim’s mother Ratna Debnath say on the X post?
Just after meeting Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, MLA Ratna Debnath expressed her feelings by writing a post on her social media account ‘X’. She wrote that today I am meeting the Chief Minister, whose name is Suvendu Adhikari, on the 14th floor of Nabanna. The power of truth and honesty is really immense, it is enough to fight patiently against injustice.
While surrounding Mamta Banerjee in his post, he further wrote that today both Mamta and I are immersed in deep grief. The only difference is that I lost my only daughter forever and have now dedicated my entire life to the service of the public, whereas she (Mamata Banerjee) has lost the Chief Minister’s chair located on the 14th floor of Nabanna due to her nefarious activities. Along with this, he warned in a strong tone that former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her entire team will have to face even more dire consequences in the future, just keep looking ahead.
Calcutta High Court issues strict orders to CBI
Talking about the legal aspects of this entire matter, the Calcutta High Court had issued a very strict order to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) only last week. The court has directed the CBI to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) consisting of three members. This special team will thoroughly investigate all the links and events from the time the trainee doctor had his last meal on that dark night of August 2024 till his last rites were performed.
It is known that this heinous crime had created a huge outrage not only in West Bengal but among the doctors and general public of the entire country. The victim’s mother Ratna Debnath has repeatedly made serious allegations regarding the investigation that many influential persons were directly and indirectly involved in this heinous crime against her daughter, but till now all the suspects have not been brought under the ambit of the main investigation.
