Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are face to face in the 69th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. In the afternoon match being played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, MI captain Hardik Pandya has won the toss and decided to bowl first. This means that in their ‘do or die’ match, RR team will be seen batting first.

The good news for RR is that captain Ryan Parag and senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have returned to the team after getting fit. Although Jadeja is in the list of impact players. If RR’s innings disintegrates then he can come to bat.

Rest for Bumrah

Usually, teams prefer to bat first in afternoon matches but Hardik believes that the pitch will be better for batting as the match progresses. That’s why he chose bowling. RR captain Parag also wanted to chase runs. MI has rested Jasprit Bumrah. Rohit Sharma will enter as an impact player.

It is necessary for RR to win at any cost

To reach the playoffs, RR must win this match at any cost. If she loses she will be out. If RR loses, one of the teams Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will make it to the playoffs, which will be decided in this evening’s match.
