Rajasthan Royals have finally decided their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs. Rajasthan defeated Mumbai Indians by 30 runs in their last league stage match. This made them the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs. Batting first, Rajasthan scored 205 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai could manage only 175 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. RCB, Gujarat, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan have qualified for the playoffs this season.

Rajasthan Royals in the playoffs for the seventh time in a row
Rajasthan Royals have made it to the playoffs for the seventh consecutive time in the history of IPL. Chennai Super Kings hold the record for the most number of playoff appearances, reaching the final four 12 times. It is also a significant achievement for Rian Parag, who led Rajasthan to the playoffs in his first season as captain.
Rajasthan will face Hyderabad in the eliminator
The IPL 2026 season is now in its final phase. All four teams in the playoffs have been decided. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore are at the top spot, while Gujarat are at the second spot. Qualifier 1 will be played between RCB and Gujarat on May 26 at Dharamshala. Rajasthan Royals will play an eliminator match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 27 at Mullanpur. The winner of Qualifier 1 will directly qualify for the finals, while the loser will face the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2.
Punjab-KKR lost due to Rajasthan’s win
Rajasthan’s win has shattered the playoff dreams of Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Rajasthan got 16 points with 8 wins from 14 matches and became the fourth team to reach the playoffs. Mumbai Indians, already out of the playoff race, finished ninth. Punjab scored 15 points from 14 matches with 7 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw and missed out on their place in the playoffs. Punjab had a great start to the tournament and were unbeaten in the first seven matches, but the team’s form faltered in the second leg. KKR also had hopes, but Rajasthan’s win ended both Punjab’s and KKR’s hopes.
