Share Market Today: There is now hope for peace in the long running war between America and Iran. Its effect is also visible on the stock markets around the world. There was a tremendous surge in the Indian stock market on Monday and both the major indices opened in the green. During morning trading, Sensex was at 76,135 with a gain of 720 points or 0.96 percent and Nifty was at 23,967 with a gain of 247 points or 1.04 percent.
Auto shares were leading the market rise in early trade. Most indices were in the green with Nifty Auto, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Oil & Gas, Nifty Realty, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Private Bank, Nifty Private Bank, Nifty Infra, Nifty Services and Nifty PSE in the green. Only Nifty IT was in the red.
Rise in all three market caps
Along with largecap, midcap and smallcap were also in the green. The Nifty Smallcap 100 index was at 18,149, up 183 points or 1.02 per cent and the Nifty Midcap 100 index was at 61,847, up 433 points or 0.71 per cent.
On the other hand, M&M, Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti Suzuki, Eternal, UltraTech Cement, Indigo, Maruti Suzuki, SBI, HUL, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, Trent, Axis Bank, ITC, Titan and Adani Ports were the gainers on the BSE Sensex. While shares of TCS, Infosys, Sun Pharma and NTPC declined.
Rise in all Asian markets
Talking about major Asian and international markets, most Asian markets opened with a rise. Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bangkok were in the green. Whereas, Jakarta was in red mark. American stock markets closed in the green on Friday. The main index Dow Jones closed with a gain of 0.58 percent and Nasdaq gained 0.19 percent.
Effect of signaling end of war
According to experts, the reason for this rise in the stock market is the peace talks between America and Iran and signs of ending the war. Recently, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that talks regarding the agreement between America and Iran are still going on. This includes a proposal to open the Strait of Hormuz and negotiate on Iran’s nuclear program. At the same time, President Donald Trump has also said that American talks with Iran are in the final stages.
