Pilibhit: Such a shocking case has come to light from Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, which everyone is stunned to hear. Here a person was giving bumper offers to people in exchange for adopting Christianity. His claim was that if someone changes his religion, he will be given a government job and will also be married to a beautiful girl. On Monday, the police arrested this luring accused, who was inciting people to convert their religion illegally.
This sensational case is from Jograjpur village of Sehramau, about 50 kilometers from the district headquarters. It is being told that when the villagers protested against this strange offer, the accused got angry at them. He started abusing people and even threatened to kill them. After this, the angry villagers caught him red-handed and handed him over to the police. The revelations made by the accused during police interrogation have alarmed even the security agencies. The accused told that he has been preaching Christianity for the last 20 years and in the year 2006, Jesus Christ himself had saved him from the clutches of an evil spirit. This person, resident of Moradabad, sold even 7 bighas of his land in order to propagate religion. Now the police is investigating deeply from where he was getting funding for this game.
Came to the shop and started telling ‘Miracles of God’
Gaurav Gupta, living in Jograjpur village, has an electronics shop. On Sunday, suddenly an unknown person came to his shop, who revealed his name as Anokhe Lal and declared himself to be a resident of Moradabad. As soon as he sat at the shop, he started giving knowledge about Christianity to the people present there. He continued counting the alleged miracles of God. When he realized that his words were not having any significant impact on the people present there and they were not being completely influenced, he made his biggest move. He made a direct offer and said that whoever changes his religion will get a permanent government job and will be married to a very beautiful girl.
On hearing this, Gaurav Gupta and the villagers standing there became alert. He immediately informed this to the local police. As soon as Hindu organizations came to know about this, workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) also reached Sehramau police station in large numbers and lodged a written complaint against the accused. Taking the matter seriously, the police arrested the accused Anokhe Lal and presented him in the court, from where he was sent directly to jail.
‘An evil spirit was after me, Jesus saved me from suicide’
The story narrated by accused Anokhe Lal in police custody seems like a script of a film. He told that at one time he was haunted by an evil spirit, who forced him to commit suicide again and again. During this time, he met a person in Delhi, who advised him to read the Holy Bible. Anokhe Lal claims that after reading the Bible, Jesus Christ freed him from that evil spirit forever. Influenced by this incident, he himself converted to Christianity and since then he started traveling from village to village propagating this religion and distributing pamphlets among the people. He said that he considers this work as a great virtue.
Broke ties with family, raised money by selling 7 bighas of land
On this whole matter, Puranpur CO Prateek Dahiya said that Anokhe Singh had come in contact with some Christian preachers in Delhi in the year 2006. After returning from there, he converted his religion and has been continuously involved in this activity for the last two decades. For this work he had also sold 7 bighas of his land in Moradabad. Investigation has also revealed that Anokhe Lal has a wife and two children, but he has nothing to do with his family and they do not have any kind of relation with him. At present, the police is closely investigating that apart from selling the land, from where was he getting the money for this large-scale propaganda and who is the mastermind of this entire conversion module.
