Italy’s new-look squad marks the start of a generational change

Italy have unveiled their squad for the pre-World Cup friendly fixtures, though it is already confirmed that they will not actually be taking part in those matches.
In the meantime, interim coach Silvio Baldini has initiated a period of transition while the Federation prepares to appoint a permanent manager. His selection features a lineup heavily focused on young talent.
It is evident that several of the established stars have been omitted, allowing space for emerging players such as Samuele Inacio, Luca Reggiani, Fini, and Venturino, among others.
