Erling Haaland expressed his belief that Manchester City’s journey of success is far from finished, as the striker joined teammates and fans for a sun-soaked 2026 trophy parade through the city.
Haaland and the rest of the first team celebrated the conclusion of an exceptional season in which City lifted both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. The celebrations featured an open-top bus parade through Manchester’s city centre, culminating in a joyous After Party at the Co-Op attended by thousands of supporters.
The event drew an enormous crowd of City fans, with the club’s triumphant women’s team—fresh from clinching the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League title—and the 2025/26 FA Youth Cup champions also joining the festivities.
The parade also carried an emotional note, serving as a farewell tribute to men’s manager Pep Guardiola, who concluded an extraordinary 10-year spell in charge that yielded 20 major trophies. Long-serving players Bernardo Silva and John Stones were also honoured as they bid farewell after illustrious careers at the Etihad Stadium.
Even amidst the nostalgia, Haaland emphasised his confidence that City’s best days are still to come. “It’s amazing – the weather’s on our side as well,” said the newly crowned Premier League Golden Boot winner, smiling as fans enjoyed what was the hottest day of the year so far.
“I’m just so happy for the Manchester City fans,” he continued. “I feel we could have achieved even more this season, but there’s definitely more to come. I’m enjoying today’s parade, but I think there’ll be an even better one in the future.”
Haaland also took time to pay heartfelt tribute to Bernardo Silva and John Stones as they prepare to move on after long and successful stints with the club. The pair, who have spent nine and ten years respectively with City, leave behind a legacy as true icons of the Blue side of Manchester.
Speaking warmly about his teammates, Haaland said, “Bernardo and John have been here for nine or ten years and have each won six Premier League titles – that says everything. They’re two legends of the club, incredible both on and off the pitch. They’ve done so much for City, and I feel honoured to have played alongside them. It’s funny—I remember following John Stones on Twitter when I was younger; I don’t think he even knows! I’m proud to have shared the pitch with them and to have won the Premier League and Champions League together.”
In turn, John Stones, affectionately known as the ‘Barnsley Beckenbauer,’ offered his own glowing praise for Haaland. “Erling has become one of the best players in the world—if not the best—in his position. In my opinion, he’s the best,” Stones said. “But he’s an even better person, which says everything about his character. I’ve enjoyed every moment with him, and I’ll miss him.”
Manchester City fans also had another reason to celebrate, marking the club’s eighth FA Cup triumph with commemorative memorabilia from a truly unforgettable day at Wembley.
