Navya Naveli Nanda wraps up 2-year MBA journey at IIM Ahmedabad
Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of Bollywood veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has completed her blended MBA programme from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Navya shared the update on social media along with a series of photographs from the campus, giving followers a glimpse into her life as a student over the last two years.

Posting pictures from classrooms, campus corridors and moments with friends, Navya wrote, “A place that’s given me more than I can ever give it back… And the people who have done the same! One final time.” The post also included candid moments from inside the lecture halls and outdoor spaces around the IIM Ahmedabad campus known for its iconic red-brick architecture.

In one of the pictures, Navya was seen sitting on a wooden bench on the campus grounds wearing a black top, olive green pants and an open white shirt. Other images showed her interacting with classmates and spending time during lectures and campus activities.

Chose entrepreneurship over films

Navya Naveli Nanda, from the Bachchan family, has often been asked about entering films, but she has repeatedly made it clear that she is not inclined towards Bollywood. In a conversation with Variety India, she said there was no pressure from her family to follow the acting legacy, and everyone was encouraged to choose their own career paths.

Instead of films, Navya focused on entrepreneurship and business studies, influenced by her upbringing around professionals from different fields. While her brother Agastya Nanda entered the film industry with The Archies directed by Zoya Akhtar, Navya chose a different route shaped by her father Nikhil Nanda and mother Shweta Bachchan Nanda, whose professional lives influenced her thinking from an early stage.

Returning to academics at IIM Ahmedabad

Navya Naveli Nanda joined IIM Ahmedabad’s blended MBA programme in 2024, a course created for working professionals and entrepreneurs that combines online classes with campus sessions. Speaking earlier on Mojo Story with journalist Barkha Dutt, Navya had shared that returning to academics after a long gap was not easy, describing the programme as challenging and demanding but also a rewarding learning experience.

She also said that interacting with classmates became one of the most valuable parts of the course, as discussions and shared experiences helped her learn beyond textbooks and lectures. After news of her admission surfaced online, some social media users questioned the selection process. Later, Promila Agarwal clarified on X that Navya had earned admission on merit after meeting the institute’s required cut-off criteria.

IIM Ahmedabad blended MBA: Eligibility and admission process

According to the official IIM Ahmedabad programme details, candidates applying for the blended MBA programme must have at least three years of full-time work experience after graduation.
