Bhopal: The famous Twisha Sharma case has shocked the entire state. His last rites were performed at Bhadbhada crematorium in Bhopal on Sunday. Earlier, on the instructions of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, a four-member team of specialist doctors from Delhi-based AIIMS conducted his post-mortem again. The family is continuously demanding impartial investigation and justice regarding this matter.
Family members paid tribute to Twisha
Twisha’s family was initially planning to perform her last rites in Delhi, but in view of the extreme heat and other circumstances, they changed their decision. Later, the family appealed to the people of Bhopal, especially women and social organizations, to pay tribute to Twisha by attending the funeral and support them in this fight for justice.
Before the funeral, Twisha’s father Navnidhi Sharma expressed his grief in emotional words. He said that today not only his family is sad, but every person who believes in the safety, respect and justice of daughters is sad. He said that his daughter’s departure is not only a personal sorrow but also a big question for the society.
Twisha was found dead on 12 May
33-year-old Twisha Sharma was found dead on May 12 at her in-laws’ house in Katara Hills, Bhopal. After the incident, his family made serious allegations against his in-laws. Family members say that Twisha was continuously harassed for dowry and was forced to commit suicide. The family has clearly said that they will continue their fight until the culprits are punished.
On the other hand, Twisha’s mother-in-law and retired judge Giribala Singh had claimed that Twisha was struggling with drug addiction. However, the deceased’s family rejected these allegations, calling them completely baseless.
The family had demanded post-mortem for the second time regarding the investigation of the case. After not getting relief from the local court, he reached the High Court. Later the court ordered a second post-mortem by the team of doctors from Delhi AIIMS.
