The Indian mixed doubles pair of Manush Shah and Diya Chitale were crowned champions at the 2026 WTT Contender Lagos in Nigeria on Saturday.
The duo, playing in their second consecutive WTT Contender final, claimed a straight-game win, 11-8, 14-12, 11-8, over the French pair of Leo De Nordest and Camille Lutz.
The top-seeded Indian pair showed impressive performance throughout the tournament, dropping just one game across four matches en route to the title.
Manush, partnering with Manav Thakkar, has also reached the men’s doubles final with an 11-4, 11-6, 11-9 win over the host pairing of Taiwo and Matthew.
The top-seeded Indian pair has now reached their first big final of the year, where they will take on the Romanian pair of Lulian Chrita and Andrei Istrate on Sunday.
Manush delivered a fine performance in the singles as well, emerging as the lone Indian to reach the semi-finals, where he lost to South Korea’s Oh Junsong.
On the other hand, the women’s doubles pair of Ayhika Mukherjee/ Sutirtha Mukherjee and Yashaswini Ghorpade/ Diya Chitale bowed out in the semi-finals.
