RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav claimed Bihar's state treasury is empty, rendering the NDA govt unable to pay welfare to women and seniors. He also slammed the govt over the NEET paper leak, accusing it of shielding criminals and corrupt individuals.

Yadav Alleges Empty State Treasury

Launching a sharp offensive against the NDA government here, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday claimed the state treasury is entirely empty, rendering the government incapable of fulfilling its financial commitments to the public. Former Deputy Chief Minister accused the government of neglecting vulnerable groups, specifically pointing to delayed welfare disbursements for women and senior citizens.

"The government has no money to do anything, the treasury is empty," Yadav said, targeting the state's financial management. Questioning the government's accountability, the RJD leader demanded immediate clarity on the rollout of promised financial assistance. "The second instalment that was promised to women, when will it be given? When will pensions be provided? You have deceived the people," he charged.

Taking a direct dig at Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary over his recent public statements, Yadav added that the opposition finds the government's rhetoric detached from reality. "If the Chief Minister makes statements like this, we laugh at their thinking," the LoP remarked.

Criticism Over NEET Paper Leak

Earlier on May 18, Bihar Assembly Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav slammed the government over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, alleging that it shields corrupt individuals and criminals. Speaking to reporters, the RJD leader said incidents of paper leaks were not new and had occurred repeatedly in Bihar as well.

"Under the NDA government, corrupt individuals are shielded, and criminals are protected. This is not the first time that the NEET paper has been leaked. Paper leaks have occurred repeatedly in Bihar as well," Tejashwi Yadav said. He further alleged that no senior official or BJP leader had faced punishment in connection with such incidents. (ANI)
