New Delhi, 24 May 2026: RCB became the table topper after 15 years Last year, Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first Indian Premier League title. However, the team was not a table topper that season, finishing second. This is the first time in 15 years that RCB has topped the points table, securing the position with 18 points and a net run rate of +0.783.

Royal Challengers Bangalore last finished as table toppers in 2011. That year, RCB reached the final but lost against Chennai Super Kings. Before that, Bangalore had also reached the final in 2009, but lost against Deccan Chargers.

How many times has RCB become table topper?

Royal Challengers Bangalore have finished as table topper only twice in IPL history: in 2011 under the captaincy of Daniel Vettori and in 2026 under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar.

The team was second in the points table in 2016 and 2025. In 2016, they reached the final but lost against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 2025, they also reached the finals, but this time they ended the trophy drought. By defeating Punjab Kings, they won their first IPL title in 18 years.

Virat Kohli is the highest run scorer for RCB

Virat Kohli has lagged behind in the race for the Orange Cap, coming eighth in the list of players who have scored the most runs this year. Even though he is the highest run scorer of his team, he has scored 557 runs in 14 innings. He has scored one century and four half-centuries in this season.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has the Purple Cap, he has taken 24 wickets in 14 matches. Gujarat bowler Kagiso Rabada also has 24 wickets, but Bhuvi’s economy (7.71) is better, due to which he has become the purple cap holder.
