Ousmane Dembélé (29) and Achraf Hakimi (27) were both absent from Paris Saint-Germain’s group training session on Saturday, just one week before their highly anticipated UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal.
Dembélé, who was taken off as a precaution during last Sunday’s 2-1 win over Paris FC, was given rest by head coach Luis Enrique. The Spanish manager instead organised a friendly match featuring several academy players. Earlier this week, speaking to RMC Sport, the current Ballon d’Or holder reassured fans that he would be “100%” ready for the showdown with the Gunners.
Hakimi, meanwhile, has not made an appearance since the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on 28th April, which PSG won 5-4 on aggregate. The Moroccan full-back limited his participation to individual drills, cheered on by around a thousand PSG ultras who were invited to the open session. With the final approaching, there remains uncertainty about whether Hakimi will regain full fitness in time or if Warren Zaïre-Emery (20) will once again start in his place.
