Barcelona Femeni secured their fourth UEFA Women's Champions League title after defeating Lyonnes 4-0 on Saturday.

It was a high-stakes encounter between two powerhouses of European football — Spain's champions and France's most successful club. However, one star's brilliance turned the tide in a match that carried special personal meaning.

Scorers: Pajor 55', 70', Paralluelo 90', 90+3'

The first half unfolded cautiously, showcasing top-tier footballing quality at both ends of the Ullevaal Stadion in Norway.

Lyonnes thought they had taken the lead when American forward Lindsey Heaps finished from close range, only for the effort to be ruled offside. Barcelona goalkeeper Cata Coll produced key saves to deny Wendie Renard and Selma Bacha, ensuring the game stayed level.

Appearing in their sixth consecutive final, Barcelona finally broke the deadlock in the second half. Striker Ewa Pajor found her rhythm and delivered a crucial breakthrough.

The Polish international outpaced her defender and sent a low shot into the far corner — her 10th UWCL goal of the season and 30th across all competitions this year.

The goal was particularly emotional for Pajor, who entered the match with a personal mission. The former Wolfsburg forward had featured in five previous UWCL finals — all of which ended in defeat.

Meanwhile, Lyonnes icon Ada Hegerberg, one of the biggest names in women’s football, had a quiet evening before being substituted to loud applause from the home fans in Norway. Marie-Antoinette Katoto came on as Lyonnes sought to mount a comeback.

However, their hopes were dashed moments later. Pajor, full of determination, struck again after a loose ball rolled across the box, doubling Barcelona’s lead with a clinical finish from close range.

Pajor’s 11th goal of the campaign matched the record for the most goals by a Barcelona player in a single UWCL season, equalling Alexia Putellas’ mark from 2021/22.

Lyonnes, returning to the final after four years, watched their title chances fade away as Salma Paralluelo added a third goal with a superb strike from distance.

With celebrations already underway, Pajor played a key role yet again in the dying moments. Breaking on the counter, she sprinted into space and set up Paralluelo, who calmly slotted home the fourth past goalkeeper Christiane Endler.

It was a complete performance by Barcelona Femeni, sealing another chapter of European dominance and crowning Ewa Pajor’s long-awaited redemption at the pinnacle of women’s club football.
