Now, reports in the British press reveal that the couple has purchased additional flats in a property nearby their mansion, a move that has irked their neighbours. They allege that Sonam and Anand have purchased five flats in their block for 4 million pounds (around Rs 51 crore) and plan to use them as 'servants' quarters'. The block's garages were also purchased to host their cars. It is currently used as storage.

Sonam Kapoor, Anand Ahuja's London property purchases opposed by neighbours

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the residents at Hillcrest where Sonam and Anand have purchased the five flats, are opposing their block being turned into flats for the couple's staff. Hillcrest block's garage, which was also purchased by a firm representing the couple, could also be used for their car collection. Back in 2023, Sonam and Anand first moved into the neighbourhood and completely redid their mansion. They tore out everything and also built a basement swimming pool and subterranean basketball court inside. Initially, the neighbours did not object to the rebuilding plans but now the other residents of Hillcrest are objecting to the couple's influence in the block, which holds only 23 flats. The residents at Hillcrest allege that if they complained, the flats would be made available for 'social housing'. Some of the neighbours stated that no one was currently living in the flats but they were being done up. Besides the mansion, Sonam and Anand own residences in Delhi and Mumbai as well as a flat and studio in Notting Hill that was featured in an Architectural Digest video. However, a spokesperson for the couple also said in the report that Sonam was not involved in the purchases of the flats. They have been bought for investment purposes only.

Since the birth of their  , Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja, on March 29, 2026, Sonam and Anand have been spending time with family in India. Their elder son Vayu Kapoor Ahuja was born on August 20, 2022. The couple tied the knot in 2018 in Mumbai in a traditional Sikh ceremony. Several members of the film fraternity attended the star-studded reception. Sonam was last seen in the thriller Blind, which was released directly on OTT in June 2023.
